Chronopoly
Chronopoly is a tabletop adventure RPG set in a brutal sci-fi universe. The player is stuck in a timeloop. This game is heavily inspired by Monopoly, where the player moves on a square board, triggering different events, until they pass 'GO!', where the timeloop resets. The player will make choices that will dictate which characters are willing to help them or betray them.
In the year 2237, Humanity has spread to other planets in the solar system with Earth being uninhabitable for life. The first starship has been sent to the nearby Alpha Centauri System to further colonize and potentially terraform. Mars, Europa and Titan have the most number of humans, with smaller colonies on Mercury and Io and the furthest colony on Triton. The only planet that doesn't have any human settlement is Venus, or so was initially thought. Cybernetics and AI robots are common. Humanity is now a Laissez-Faire, meaning that every city forms it's own leaders and makes decisions for their own settlement. This has caused multiple factions to appear, though all leaders have made a truce not to start all out war ever since the third world war that decimated Lunar.
Venus is still too difficult to create a settlement on it's surface, due to it's strong atmospheric pressure that isn't present on other planets. However, approximately 50 kilometers above the surface, both the pressure and gravity is similar to that of Earth, with the only issue being strong winds. A floating city was built here called Era, one that utilizes the strong winds to keep itself always facing away from the other planets to hide it's presence. This is a lawless city with no government or leader. It was created by pirates that smuggled refugees from Lunar with the promise they'd be taken to Mars, only to end up here. The slaves launched a coup d'état, and now years have passed where both sides live together in 'relative' harmony.
You are a young human adult. You spent the first 18 years of your life in an orphanage in Siren, Io, before being forced to work for the rest of your life to pay off the debt you owe the orphanage. You were being transported to Mercury when pirates invade the ship to capture greenhouse farming supplies. You manage to get yourself to an escape pod in a suit and launch yourself. You drift endlessly in open space for weeks before hitting the side of what seems like nothing. You get out of the pod and touch the surface, to see that your hand get's pulled right through into a large derelict ship that looked alien in nature. It used what seemed like an invisibility cloak to hide itself. Exploring the ship, there's no power anywhere and no signs of bodies. The only thing that produced light was the ship's core, a large crystal that didn't seem to do anything on touch. As you try to free it from it's clutches, the entire ship along with you are suddenly teleported to the surface of Venus, right outside an ancient structure. You obviously know that you cannot step outside, but your escape pod is right outside. By surviving the quick jump from the ship exit to the pod, you launch yourself up hoping to leave the planet, only to hit the bottom of Era. Three bandits pull you out and you barely escape with your life, but a steep drop into the city underbelly breaks your lower left leg. You find a shipping crate to take shelter in, and this is where the game starts.
